White Noise Audio Genome MIDI Sequencer (GMS) for iPad

Genome MIDI Sequencer (GMS) for iPad is a pattern based MIDI sequencer for controlling all your MIDI gear. You can sequence single patterns or an entire 16 track song. GMS is fun, easy and portable. Whether you want to make music from the couch, a hotel room or on stage, GMS is the right tool for the job.

It is great for people looking to try an alternate studio setup, searching for a compact sequencer to bring to band practice or those who just want to find a way to ditch the bulky laptop.

GMS easily syncs your drum machines and arpeggiators by sending and receiving MIDI clock messages. General MIDI files are easily exported and imported for integration with desktop apps.

GMS is compatible with the Line6 MIDI Mobilizer and any interfaces that support CoreMIDI using the Camera Connection Kit or Network MIDI. Network MIDI allows you to send events to your Mac Desktop or to other iOS devices and apps.

  1. Having been recently bitten by the iPad music bug, I’m playing catch up collecting the usual suspects (Nano Studio, iSequence HD, Aurora) but really like the idea of being able to use an independent sequencer with individual synths, samplers and drum machines for maximum flexibility – even being able to reinvent existing compositions when brand new apps are released. Someone needs to maintain a definitive list of the soft synths and iOS midi apps that Genome can plug into to give this product it’s killer app, and someone might be me if I win a promo copy!

  2. I waited until the end of the week to chime back in on this topic. I would love to get a chance to work with this app.

I have bleepbox! And it really is a great piece of software. I hope to add the a/u to my Mac DAW soon and when I do this app will tie everything together. Until then I would really like to play with all the great virtual midi enabled apps that recently just got their updates. Nlog,SoundPrism,Morphwiz/Samplewiz,and the coming Arctic Synth and Sunrizer should all benefit from Genome. I have wanted the app since I first saw it and I still have not even had a chance to buy step poly arp. I hope I win a promo code but even if I don’t I will still keep this app on my wish list. Thanks.

  3. I would love to try a better sequencer. I’ve tried many of the iOS versions, but they haven’t been as intuitive as I would like. I have high hopes for Genome. Don’t let us down.

  4. Oh this would be so sweet, to give all my apps a ‘lil treat. Genome, Genome, let me take you home!

  5. It’s funny, since I left a comment on here in a bid to win a copy of this relatively cheap application(on the grand scale of things), I’m actually starting to realise how really useful it will be. And so the ploy comes into play…Damn you….!

  6. I would use this to control Synths on my MacBook and within my iPad. The possibilities seem endless with this sweet piece of tech.

  7. I’m becoming obsessed with ios music creation apps, really need to give this a try!

  8. I’m working on a new live performance set and this sounds like a really swell addition.

  9. want it, ‘cos I really like Bleep!Box, I’d like to support the dev, but I’m quite… broke….

  10. I am glad to see an iOS app that focuses exclusively on MIDI rather than trying to be an all-in-one music program. I am excited to try it out.

  11. This looks like an amazing app, and I think owning it would ignite my long lost gear lust and incite another buying spree. This time on some hardware synths to go with the app.

  12. I think this app would help me in speeding up the workflow in composing beats and loops in Ableton Live… I mean, mouse clicking is sooooo slow, and you can obviously control one midi event at a time… But with this app connected to the Mac, I’ll have ten fingers available to input parameters. It should become way faster. I’d like to try it.

  13. I would LOVE to own GMS. I’ve been disappointed that I couldn’t afford it at this time and I’ve really been needing something to pull all my equipment together. I’ve been waiting forever for this app, I really can’t wait to try it out!

  14. Because my DNA is MIDI sequenced.

  15. I will throw my computer out the window.

  16. That app would really fit my setup, and I could sequence a bunch of ipad apps together as external stuff.

Pretty nice from you to give codes away.

  17. Why? I think that controlling from iThing up to 16 track compositions is awesome. Integration with my desktop synths and drum maschines. Also interface looks cool. And i’ts about time to own a competent GM sequencer. Why not?

  18. Nice giveaway! I’d use Genome for controlling other iOS audio apps, which would be awesome. I don’t plan using it for controlling external devices, though.

  19. I own a Synthesizers.com Q960 sequencer and a Doepfer MAQ16/3 sequencer. Both are hardware sequencers. Until now I have not found a software sequencer with the same feel and/or functions. Maybe Genome does have it all (or some) but I will not know unless I can try it ;-)

  20. I am a huge iPhone music app addict. It’s apps like these that push me towards buying an iPad2. If I win this app I just might cave!!

  21. Oh man… this + Mainstage + Mobius + my Warr guitar would make a killer live setup.

  22. I would like to win a copy of Genome because I think idesignsound.com is the best and most informative ios music site on the web. :)

  23. Hi!
I want to try it in my onstage setup! Controlling my equipments, lights and drums etc.
    Have a nice day!
    / Bengt

  24. I waited for release Genome on PC, I want it on iPad now!

  25. Please leave me out of the drawing. This will probably suit someone else more than me. I was too quick to reply last night. :)

  26. I’m expecting Genome to be the DNA of my studio, controlling the DOUBLE HELIX of inter-app and hardware SEQUENCING!

  27. I want a copy as it seems like the perfect tool for the upcoming app midi connectivity functionality all the hot synths are including.

  28. I would like to test it.

  29. I’m looking for something that I can work on away from home and then bring home to play my instruments. This looks like it could be it.

  30. This is an app that I really want to get my hands on. I’ve missed out on all your last give aways. Hope I made it in the top ten,

  31. I like to try. Looks very good for me.

  32. Why? Because I don’t have this awesome package yet! That’s why.

  33. I don’t want to try GMS, I want to MASTER it. It is exactly what I am looking for. In fact – and this is (shamefully) true – I just bought a refurbished iPad so that I can do my next project using GMS as the primary sequencer. For what it’s worth, I promise to post poorly shot clips on the YouTubes. You can even leave comments about how much better your videos would have been if you had won the app.

Okay, I have to go back to waiting for UPS. Bye!

  34. Would like to give it a try, I’m looking for a tool compatible with my DAW.

  35. This app really looks solid. If this works as well as it looks it would be a really interesting thing to take with me into band practice, we could get a lot of great dynamics going fast.

  36. I’m looking forward to the Virtual MIDI update ….will be nice to be able to sequence my internal iPad synthesizers (Sunrizer and NLog). Bring it on! :)

  37. This thing looks interesting. I would love to try it :)
