  1. What is most impressive about this app is this in depth control that can be applied to the variety of input methods (multitouch, motion ect) but for the way I write music the most relevant features to make me want to use TC-11 are.
1.unlimited user presets (I go through sometimes 50 user defined presets before I finalize a track… I will definitely make use of unlimited user presets)
2.Audio copy and paste (Audio copy / paste is an absolute essential for me, I hate cables and if I have to plug in my ipad into another device to make full use out of the app, I will not end up using the app. A good example is this to me is bebot, its a fantastic app but I never use it because it has no record function and has no audio copy paste. I play with bebot once in a while but I never end up using it in recordings).
    3. The 3 controller modules: AHDSR, LFO, Sequencer (This portion of the app is insane, it appeals to my most obsessive audio tweaking tendencies. The controls I have seen on the lfo’s seem so completely comprehensive. The user definable scales are something I hope for all apps to one day incorporate. I use apps like iMS-20 and grainbender quite frequently for in depth tweakablity, but TC-11 really seems to be in a completely different class of app because it is so comprehensive with the parameters that are made available to users).

  2. 1) Multi touch and live play-ability : BAM !…this is a LIVE tool man…
get your presets in order and its awesome that you can vary and control all the aspects with multitouch
improvize like crazy !!!…look at me, I am moving my fingers all over this and changing all the params…
no fiddling with knobs and sliders and faders …bleh.
this is the way to control params …add to that Motion control..WOW !

    2) Sequencer : NOW this is COOL…right from the start …and not an after thought…

    3) AudioCopy : THANK YOU for this …need to get the songs out from there to mangle in other tools

Cant wait to try this :-)

    1. 1. It has to be the interface for me, in first place at least. Seen far too many toy synths aping the design of hardware originals. The iDevice’s touchscreen is an amazing resource and it’s good to see stuff designed from the bottom up to take advantage of it. Plus I want to see how modifiable those patches really are. If I can really control a patch with the iPad’s compass I am sold.
      2. Ten minutes of recording. Versus what, 80 seconds in Animoog? This is amazing stuff.
      3. Customisable display. This seems such a necessary part of designing something for this kind of device that i’m amazed more people haven’t got to it. No, Tabletop, I’m not looking at you.
Great blog, by the way — long time lurker, first time poster, etc. Keep it up!

  3. I like the programmability of the synth. The touch controls also provide the ability for a more expressive performance. I would also love to incorporate the motion controls into a more visual aspect of a performance.

  4. 1- Key point has to be the interface and the way all the interaction comes from touches, the perfect fit for the ipad and something that really makes this unique amongst ios synths

2 – The sounds! The presets sound great from the demos but it’s the patch editing I am really excited about (it looks like you could lose weeks of your life just playing with all the parameters available to change!), together with the ability to email them to others – it would nice to get a little community of people sharing their patches with each other, maybe something for Bit Shape to consider for their website?

3 – It looks fantastic visually – you could easily just pump the display out externally to on stage! Love the fact you can customise colours etc, wonder if we’ll see customer backgrounds at some stage too?

  5. - Wide variety of waveforms
    - Recording with ACP
    - Intuitive interface

  6. AudioCopy
    MultiTouch
    and Modular objects

  7. Only three – well here goes:

    the 64 built-in presets
    the 21 modular synthesis objects
    and the 22 oscillator waveforms

  8. Looks like it came straight out of Minority Report
    Device Motion control
    Multi-touch interrelational control
    Modular synthesis

    Just…wow

  9. I am looking for a device that allows me to express my musical expressions on the deepest level possible and this one seems to provide the tools to do just that.

    Madeleine

  10. 1. Sequencer
    2. Interface
    3. Souns

  11. It looks like a great device for live gigs and also studio work, but what I love is the multitouch possibility, motion response and own sound programming because I want to do some “air iPad” on stage. };-)
Also functional is the audiocopy and 10′ recording for sketching new compositions. Let’s play!

  12. 1.excellent touch control
    2.programming depth
    3.display customization

  13. Audiocopy, Multi-touch and Full display customization!

    1. 1. All the nifty blue dots and circles and lines and geometry in general.
      2. The preponderance of portrait orientation in the screenshots.
      3. The PDF manual was refreshingly long and detailed.

  14. My favorite 3 features:
    1. Motion control: I’m using my iPad for live performance a lot lately, and this is a great visual effect.
    2. Multi-Touch control: Every iPad synth should have it, and this looks like one of the best and most flexible implementations.
    3. Synthesis depth: 22 waveforms, great sounding oscillators, etc.!

  15. - Multi-touch control
    - Audio copy
    - Flexible sound design

  16. Multiple osc
Multi touch parameter controls, multiple routings
    AudioCopy

  17. /Awesome modulation options
    /Innovative and original user interface
    /Semi modular synthesis

  18. Sorry for the duplicate comment. I think I typed in my email address incorrectly on the previous comment.

    •Fully controlled by multi-touch / device motion
•Built-in recording of performances (up to ten minutes)
    •AudioCopy

  19. Hard to choose just three, but hereit goes:

Fully controlled by multi-touch / device motion
Built-in recording of performances (up to ten minutes)
    AudioCopy

  20. — modular synth engine
    — sequencer
    — record & audio copy for complete production workflow

  21. 1. Modular synthesis
    2. Multitouch and motion control with scale-lock (I want to use it as an instrument, not a chaos pad)
    3. Recorder with pasteboard transfer

These features are the basics for playing as well as integrating the app into my existing iPad Studio. The Sequenser is a bonus, because these three features could make it alone.

  22. Just to name three:

    1- Customizable interface
2- Multitouch AND device motion control
3- Highly innovative musical expression tool

  23. This would be the new centre piece of my mobile studio because of:

    1) The awesome multi-touch Performance screen.

    2) The very flexible modular options?

    3) The magnitude of inspiration just from the synthesis possibilities alone.

  24. Multitouch synth
    Modular awesomeness
    Audiocopy

  25. Aside from thinking that all the innovative features are phenomenal, the three features that I can’t wait to get my fingertips on are (in no particular order):

1 – Multitouch control. The sheer versatility of this feature will allow me to create compositions that no other app could provide.

2 – 22 Oscillators. This sheer amount of osc will allow me to create unique sounds that have never previously been heard by a human ear.

3 – Built-in recording of performance. Never will I lose a composition I’ve created. I can then share it with my friends and show them how powerful and expressive this stunning piece of kit is!

  26. Really, the following three features are what makes TC-11 exciting:

    •Fully controlled by multi-touch / device motion
    •21 modular synthesis objects
    •22 oscillator waveforms

The most impressive seems to be the fully controlled multi-touch capability where everything can be controlled by the multi-touch system through a performance means. The huge amount of synthesis objects makes for anyone who enjoys sound design to explore it in even more depth. And the 22 oscillator waveforms seems like a great variety to use for music creation, especially when combined with the modular synthesis capability. I know it was only supposed to be three, but recording and audio copy was also key for the mobile studio part, so I am excited about this capability and addition too. Watching it on youtube really showed how expressive, futuristic, and novel that musical intruments can be and I want to be a part of that revolution with TC11.

  27. 1) Audio Copy
    2) Motion Control
    3) Unique Multi-touch

Hopefully if I win I can include it on my new music project ‘Static Interference II’

  28. 1. The amazingly expressive touch control system.
    2. The endless modulation possibilities.
    3. …… Can I give you a third when I’ve won a copy & had a chance to play with it?!

  29. 1. 22 oscillators
    2. Interface
    3. Fully programmable
Very original in each area. A truly new iPad instrument it seems.

  30. 1 – device motion for, at least, compose my dream piece for contemporary dancers making music with the ipad for a street theater performance

2 – multitouch control for playing live with a symphonic orchestra and chorus

3 – Audiocopy for add a live feeling to compositions made with other apps

  31. 1. I need it
    2. I need it
    3. I need it

  32. 1. 21 modular synthesis objects – this should make it so flexible in terms of designing really unique sounds.
    2. Full display customisation – having the control to control how you control…hopefully this should release the creative process from design restraints.
    3. Built-in recording of performances – so few apps offer this, or automation, allowing you to breath some life into an electronic track. Those that do (e.g. Aurora) have been essential to me.

  33. 1.
    Unlimited freedom in sound designing.
    2.
    Unlimited freedom in music imagination.
    3.
Unlimited freedom in realtime iPad performance.

  34. My three

    1. Fully controlled by multi-touch / device motion
This will allow some really Innovative, expressive and inspiring performance
    2. Email custom patches to your friends
Collaboration in music is vital, this will really help set me and my collaborators free
    3. Full display customisation
I can tweak till my hearts content allowing more expression from my performance

  35. 1. Multitouch capabilities. Judging from the demo videos, this gives immense number of ways to shape sounds.
    2. Modular structure — always been a fan of (semi-)modulars in the VST domain (unfortunately, can’t afford one in hardware)
    3. 22 osc waveforms look like the thing

  36. Wow. Would be great winning this piece of quality software!

    Top 3 features for me:
    1. Audiocopy
    2. Multi-touch control
    3. Full synthesis engine (synthesis objects, 22 oscillator waveforms, controller modules)

  37. This looks by far like the most advanced Audio controlling app i have seen so far? Possibly the Very app that makes the best use of all the iPad functions in the way it is controlled.

    1. The multitouch controls. They simply look amazing. I have never seen a music creation app that takes advantage of all the iPad’s possibilities for controlling it. I would just love to try to use it for tracks.

    2. Unlimited user patches. I am trying to keep within my own sound and keep it original this gives me the chance to do that. Many music creation apps has a distinct limit for adding your own feel to it. The TC 11 seems to have been created for making original sound.

    3. Audiocopy. For me audiocopy is the open arms of iPad music apps. No matter how advanced a music creation tool on my iPad is, i would still want to use alot of different apps when making a track.

  38. This is looking like a really solid app. Can’t wait to give it a try.

  39. Crazy multitouch sound sculpting.

    Inspired interface.

    Not paying $29.99

    :)

  40. hi,

    great synth!
    my favorites are:

    21 modular synthesis objects
    Full display customisation
Built-in recording of performances (up to ten minutes)

    best, adda

  41. 1) Fully controlled by multi-touch / device motion: great for live performances, especially since I love to dance while I play – could make for a great combo
    2) AudioCopy – this will make it easy to construct full songs, as I already use my iPad to write all my music
    3) Sequencer – what more could I ask for?

I’m working on a genre of music I call Chip Chop (chiptunes + hip-hop) and think this would be a great addition to the arsenal!

  42. 1) multitouch and polophony…awesome!
    2) sequencer …glad it was added right at the start
    3) mobility/live performance : this is built for it. Most awesome addition as a Live instrument…its really unique and killer instr with the presets and workflow.

  43. Naming three features …1. due to its unique interface and playability i have been curious about it since its release 2. Copy paste is there along with sharinf patches with others so all of the collaborative features are there. 3. Modular synth design with 22 objects and a great deal of waveforms over the usual 4 osc shapes is nice as it adds to the depth for sound design purposes.

I also want to add that the interface seems very responsive and easily programmable as well…so lets see if i can win this baby and give it a spin in my studio!

  44. 1. Audio Copy – great, great addition
    2. Recording – also a great thing
    3. Motion Control – might not be the most useful aspect, but looks like a fun way to create sound

  45. 1) the sound- I was really impressed with the audio quality in the few demos I’ve heard
    2) the unique interface- very original
    3) the depth of the synth engine

  46. 1 Expressiveness (thanks to its innovative interface).
    2 Flexibility (sound design options).
    3 Mobility (live record, audiocopy…).

    A very impressive synth!

  47. The 3 features that stand out for me are

    1.step sequencers
    2.recording
    3.audiocopy

  48. Multi Touch Control
    Device Motion Control
    Echtzeit Synthese

    I like

  49. Oscillators, audiocopy and the option to record!i’m actually selling all my hardware(to buy 2 ipads) and this baby would be perfect to complement all the synths I already have!!

  50. Multi Touch Control
    Device Motion Control
    Echtzeit Synthese

  51. The three things that appeal to me are:
    1. The flexibility of sound design (all those modules!) which will allow you to make unique sounds unavailable on other apps
    2. The unique controllers for performance!
    3. Recording and audio export to allow it to be integrated with other music apps.
    Sounds fun!

  52. 1. Audiocopy
    2. Multi-touch
    3. Full display customization

    It looks really user-friendly!

  53. multitouch
    oscillators
    display customizing

    bam!

  54. these three features have me drooling:

    - Fully controlled by multi-touch / device motion
    - 22 oscillator waveforms
    - Built-in recording of performances (up to ten minutes)

I could name more. Definitely one of the most innovative audio apps I’ve encountered so far!

    1. 1.audio copy
      2.64 builti in presets
      3.22 oscillator waveforms

      1. 22 Midular synthesis objects makes me drool.

Audiocopy and a sequencer, plus built in recorder.

Lfo and 21 OSC’s this thing sounds amazing

        1. Ugh
          iPhone fingers

          Midular = Modular of course
