Anaphobia Mini (Universal)
Date Added: Dec 4, 2011
Anaphobia Mini is an iOS Universal monophonic virtual analog synthesizer. It features a classical analog synthesizer setup using a VCO, LFO, VCA and VCF. Of course, none of it is really controlled by voltage, but rather by a 32-bit digital synthesis engine.

FEATURES:
- One oscillator with two wave types and scalable within the range of -1 and +1 octave.
- One LFO with fixed wave type (saw) and selectable frequency/rate and depth. LFO can modulate VCO frequency or VCF cutoff.
- One VCA with fixed ADSR envelope.
- One 24dB/octave VCF with three filter types and selectable cutoff frequency and resonance.
- A one-octave keyboard with support for portamento and legato play.
- 14 factory presets.
- 20 custom presets.
- 16 step sequencer with adjustable tempo (20-200 BPM), adjustable swing and glide/portamento
- Basic MIDI IN support via Core MIDI (note on/off, controller change 71 (VCF resonance) and 74 (VCF cutoff)
- Selectable MIDI channel (1-16)
- Synchronise tempo to MIDI clock
- Support for MIDI start, stop and reset commands
- Background audio play
- Virtual MIDI
- WIST (Wireless synchronised start and stop)

I’ve always been a little thrown by the added step needed to load a patch. The extra “are you sure” seems a bit much to me.
I have seen some apps though where you’d have to go through more so it’s not too bad. A simple tap to load would suffice in apps like this.
Some may like the added security in the prompt but for me,in this kind of app,not so much. If it was a life altering potentialy destructive case it might warrant it. But if I’m already in the preset menu there is a 99% chance I’m there to load another.
Just my thoughts. Everything else is cool. I would just ditch the “are you sure” and just let loose. :)
If it annoys people, I could make the confirmations optional.
Dont forget the Synthstation compatibility it makes an invaluable difference. Much needed,
You are correct, the 2.0 update does not include audio export options. However, they are definitely on my todo list (as well as a lot of other things ;)).
kind regards,
Lars
Hi Lars,
I can’t quite figure out how’s the sequencer supposed to work. I see the pads flashing when I hit play, but no sound whatsoever
Double tap a square to activate the step, and then drag your finger up and down to change the octave for that step, and left and right to change the note. Hold down a square for a glide. Of you use the question mark some help is overlaid. I’m really loving the new sequencer! :-)
What James said. I didn’t ship 2.0 with any preset patterns, but that will be addressed in a future update. Furthermore, when you save a sound setup, you also save the current pattern along with it. So you can save/load patterns as well.
Thx guys, it worked
Wow, great update! This seems to be a nice little synth, and for free too! Thank you Lars! One thing though, there doesn’t seem to be any export options (unless I’ve missed it somehow?). Is there any chance this could be added in an update? Sonoma AudioCopy would be nice ;-)
