Epic Synth (Universal)
Epic Synth is an iOS Universal polyphonic synthesizer supporting CoreMIDI and the Line 6 Midi Mobilizer MIDI interface. The iPhone version is also compatible with the Akai SynthStation25 Keyboard Controller. It was inspired by legendary analog synthesizers of the 1980s. It’s designed from the ground up to be easy to use, powerful, and fun!
EpicSynth distills the essence of subtractive synthesis into a simple yet powerful app. Epic Synth’s sound architecture is simple enough for beginners to learn about synthesis yet powerful enough to satisfy experienced sound modelers. Its straightforward interface is never an obstacle and lets you focus on the essential: the pleasure of creating new sounds!

SOUND ARCHITECTURE:
- Each of the four voices has:
- A simultaneous-multi-mode oscillator comprised of a pulse wave with pulse-width-modulation, a sawtooth wave, a sub-octave square wave and white noise generator.
- A standard envelope generator with attack, decay, sustain and release
- A lowpass (ladder) filter with resonance control and modulation routings
- Dual-mode Amplifier using Envelope Generator or Key Gate
- Shared components include
- LFO with adjustable delay
- High-pass Filter
- Chorus effect
ABOUT EPIC SYNTH
Epic Synth was created in Montréal by an indy synthesizer-addicted iOS software developer. After hunting down, buying and studying dozens of synths, both digital and analog, vintage and modern, monophonic and polyphonic, JP set out to create a great synth for the iPad: EpicSynth!

IMO, Any music app released without clip recording and ACP is nothing short of an epic mistake. I don’t know about everyone else, but I love the freedom the iPad offers me to make music anywhere I wish without anything else. No clip record & ACP, no use. How does anyone miss that? When I ask developers about this, they have no logical answers or in this case no answer at all. I really don’t mean to be harsh, I’m sure the developer is feeling enough pinch. I honestly want this synth, and I want to love it.
I wouldn’t say it was “Epic” but it is capable of some nice fat sounds. Definitely worth $0.99. But if you already own Sunrizer or GrainBender you could probably give it a miss.
Yap James, that’s what I thought. I own Sunrizer, Addictive and some free beautiful and crude sounding synths like Sylo Synthesizer or YUMI so I’ll pass on this for the time being.

Hey gents, this synth is now only 0.99$ / 0.79€. Is it worthy just for the sounds or should we pass until further improvements?

If he update with record and copy/paste, more sales…sure.

Guy made a webpage, but 0 (ZERO!) sound samples on it.
But he made the screenshots enlargeable. Guy has his priorities seriously backwards.
What is wrong with you developers? Don’t you want to sell you stuff?
