Gregorio Zanon has announced uPhase+ – said to be the first iOS musical instrument to allow the networking of devices (both iPhone and iPad) to spatialize patterns.
“uPhase+ is an instrument geared towards live play. It has many features and shortcuts to enable complex improvisation with spatialized patterns. The app is about creating complex aural illusions out of very simple building blocks. uPhase is as much about exploring piano samples as it is about phasing: all audio is generated by modifying high quality piano samples.”
uPhase+ has two modes – to allow both solo play and networked performances.
The app has already been released in the Swiss App Store, and is scheduled for release worldwide on November 27th, 2012. uPhase+ is priced at 4.99 USD.
As always, we’ll let you know once it becomes available. In the meantime check out some more videos below (more video tutorials can be found here). There is also more information at his blog.
