HaM is an OSC (Open Sound Control) controller for compass-based mobile music performance. HaM does not generate sound itself. It sends OSC message to other computers via a Wi-Fi network. Basically, HaM can send compass data on a mobile phone and also has several performance buttons with specific OSC message tags.
When the toggle switch is on with avaliable ip address and port, it starts to send compass data to the computer of the ip address.
The OSC format used in this app is described below.
HaM means “Hold-and-Move”. The performer’s movement can be tracked in real-time with combination of compass data and button messages. More information of compass-based musical performance can be found here.
The performance is part of KAMPO (KAIST Mobile Phone Orchestra).
