  1. Trueyorky, thanks for the info.
For that price, on the iPad I expect something like Native Instruments FM7 or FM8, but not a lame 4-OP FM synth that cannot even be controlled over MIDI.
As of now, DXi seems to be a much better choice, but I’m sure the next FM synth is about to come from some good programmer in the world, maybe even from NI themselves… or Imageline … or Rob Papen … or Camel Audio … or Linplug … :)

  2. This looks great but is a little expensive. I think I’ll wait to see if the price comes down.

    1. Yeah I’m going to wait too. It does look tempting but I don’t want to spend all that money on it to find that it gets cheaper in a week or two. I like price drops but it does get annoying when you’ve paid full price a day or two previous.

I’m using Dxi FM Synth on my iPad at the moment for FM synthesis and although it’s fairly basic you can create some nice sound with it :-)

  3. Well I went for it and definitely glad I did but it’s not for the faint-hearted and not because of the price. It took me a few hours to feel comfortable navigating my way around the interface and sliding numbers instead of twiddling knobs but there is so much sonic power available – as long as you can find it.

The sequencer is fantastic and offers lots of flexibility – you can program loads of parameters. However as yet there is no effects, no audiocopy, no background audio, no MIDI and no audio mixdown. So plenty on my wishlist but still very glad I went for it :-)

  4. Would try it, but not for 35$. What a price. No thanks.
