MIDI Designer allows you to control hardware and software synths, effects, and DAWs (like Live, Cubase, Reaper, Logic) via MIDI. MIDI Designer gives you the knobs, buttons, sliders and X-Y Pads. You design your Control Surface.
MIDI Designer grew out of a love for physical MIDI hardware, and a desire to surpass its limits. MIDI Designer allows you to create the ultimate rig, and then control it. Use just your iPad, or use your iPad combined with external MIDI hardware.
Like hardware, it’s rock-solid, near-zero latency, battle-tested and performance ready.
Unlike hardware you get:
These are only a few sample features from MIDI Designer’s deep, rich feature set. Others include page banks, unique-CC note selection and hardware integration via pedalboards.
MIDI Designer connects to your computer via CoreMIDI over Wifi with sub-5ms-response. If you want, you can also use Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer or Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit for a direct hardware connection (even to your DAW).

there are really cool midi controllers for ipad, but if you’re using hardware and you’re pretty happy with it but want to “go virtual,” Midi Designer is really the best option. I tried out light for a while and ended up buying pro. it’s still my go to controller. it’s easy and fast to work with.
Bad that the prices for my Novation on ebay have dropped so much. Might be due to ipad apps?
