Stochastik Drum Machine (iPad)

Stochastik is a full-featured Drum Machine for the iPad with one outstanding difference. Unlike any other Drum Machine, Stochastik lets you set a probability that a note will trigger for each step. So, your basic beat can rock steady while accents and syncopation only happen every so often.

Xitive Stochastik Drum Machine for iPad

Once you add chance into the mix, you can generate thousands of unique variations *automatically* in the time it takes to sequence (one, two or four) bars. It’s as easy as programming a static loop but it generates a dynamic track — no more repetitive beats! Over a thousand of high-quality samples are included, from classic analog drum machines of the past to pristine acoustic jazz and rock kits. You can mix and match samples to create the perfect kit for each song. Plus, you can import your own samples through iTunes File Sharing, email or the Dropbox iPad App.

Stochastik was made to share, so you can collaborate with your friends by emailing or uploading your song, pattern and kit settings.

Stochastik plays well with other apps. When you bounce your pattern to a wav file, it’s automatically put in the clipboard for pasting into other apps. With WIST, you can wirelessly sync with other devices. With background audio, you can let Stochastik lay down the beat while you use a synth. MIDI is coming soon.

  1. Hm. Any chance for an iPhone/iPad version?

  2. Simply great and easy to use. I would like the ability to adjust volumes at each step and possibly pitch, but it is great.

  3. Great idea, easy to use and great sounds! Works well with other apps too. This will be my go-to drum app in the future!

  4. Pure awesomeness!! What a great idea.

  5. Hari Rama! Yes this is very very good, just right !

  6. Yeah, it’s a goodun alright, tight sounds and nice UI, very original

Just needs fx and a + and – by the BPM fader as its too fiddly

    1. Thanks! If you touch on the number next to the bpm slider (or any slider) a pop-up will come up and you can use the keyboard to put in exactly the BPM you want (including decimal place for exact beat-matching.)

      1. Cheers Aaron

Any fx coming in updates? Reverb and delay would be yummy! Overall this is a great tool

        1. Cheers!

The plan for the next update is to add MIDI Sync / MIDI Note Out, Mute/Solo and Export each instrument as a separate wav. When you export each instrument as a separate wav, you will be able to add effects in your DAW. I might add effects send inside Stochastik after the next update, but I will probably have to do “song mode” first, so I dont want to make any false promises.

  7. Finally a drum machine with a different touch.
Stochastik use the stochastic process given u infinite possibilities.
    Just love it.
(sure that others copy the idea)
    must have

  8. Oh yes! Get it even if it’s the only thing you do this weekend
