One Red Dog Media have released version 1.1.1 of Arctic Keys – their classic dual-oscillator subtractive synthesiser. The update adds an external MIDI scales transformer, effectively making Arctic the Keyboard Scale controller. Set the scale in Arctic Keys, then any incoming MIDI notes are automatically mapped to that scale.

Arctic Keys is a virtual analog synthesizer. With a classic dual-oscillator subtractive synthesis design that gives you the sound creation flexibility we all know and love. With an easy to use user interface that just wants to be tweaked. The result is a truly professional instrument with an audio quality that rivals that of hardware synthesizers.

I really like the updates and the new features are truly awesome; thanks One Red Dog! I have found myself using this app everyday.
@App slaya: I agree that the initial version had some serious issues which were very unfortunate. Since November I’ve been adding features that people have been requesting. These have included: SoundCloud upload, legato mode, ability to delete factory patches, setting the audio recording length, patch increment/decrement buttons, continuous pitch bend, MIDI bank and program change, keyboard scales, and the iPhone version. As soon as these features are requested and added, I update the app. So yes there have been many updates and there will continue to be many updates into the future as I support my apps. There’s likely to be another update next week. Would you rather I didn’t support the app?
At the same time yes there have been bug fixes as well. Some of these have caused the app to crash, some of these have been usability or performance improvements. Sure there are bugs and there will always be things that can be improved. To say the app crashes is not helpful to me or to others. By “crash” I’m assuming you mean the app has stopped working or simply quit. Under what circumstances? I was using Safari on iPhone 4S just the other day and it crashed while browsing the Apple website. I have my iDevices set to automatically send the crash reports to Apple. On iPad with no other music apps running I’m currently not aware of anything you can do to the app to cause it to crash. If that’s not the case, it’s helpful to tell me.
So rather than writing one line anonymous comments that slander the app, why don’t you contact me and explain under what circumstances the app crashes. That will benefit yourself and it will benefit others. Unless of course you’re motivation here is to spread bad news.
I love your app! Thanks for the continued work and maintenance. It’s GREATLY appreciated!
Also looking forward to the new ipad 3 and how smooth Artic Keys will run on that bad boy.
Maan, this has to be the most updated and bug fixed app in history, and it still crashes lol
