Update: BitWiz Audio Synth v2.0 Released

Kymatica (Jonatan Liljedahl) has released version 2.0 of BitWiz Audio Synth – his iOS Universal app that translates C-like code expressions into lo-fi 8-bit generative audio in real-time. Highlights include a new 3D oscilloscope, an XY-pad, a custom keyboard, and the automatic update of audio while editing code.

What’s new:

  • 3D oscilloscope with real-time visuals
  • XY-pad for tweaking of variables. Play BitWiz as an instrument!
  • Custom keyboard for easier editing
  • Automatic update of audio while editing code
  • Allow changing samplerate: 44100, 22050, 14700, 11025, 8820, 7350, etc.
  • Open code in external application (for example DropBox)
  • Status bar with running information and error messages
  • Updated demo codes
  • Lots of other improvements and fixes

Explore the algorithmic music of simple bitwise arithmetic operations! BitWiz comes bundled with lots of examples, and you can easily add your own codes to the built-in library. You can also share your codes by e-mail.

The entered code expression is used to calculate each audio frame, and can optionally include the microphone input as a variable, for crazy distortion effects!
