Update: bs-16i v1.4 Released – Virtual MIDI & Background Audio!

bismark have released version 1.4 of bs-16i – their universal 16 multi-timbral playback sampler. The update includes CoreMIDI improvements (including Virtual MIDI support) and Background Audio. It also adds the ability to load four SoundFont (.sf2) files.
What’s new:
- Allowed loading 4 SoundFont files
- Added Virtual MIDI Port / Background support
- Integrated CoreMIDI implementation
- Added pre-install SoundFont by S. Christian Collins
bs-16i is a 16 multi-timbral playback sampler for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. It supports SoundFont, and can be used for keyboard instrument, MIDI sound module, and MIDI player.

And what a delicious update it is. Now I can use Genome to control and record BS-16i on up to 16 tracks. The nice thing about BS-16i is that you can an access to thousands of sounds, because it uses standard SoundFont library format.
Obviously you can’t synthesise or edit sounds like on NanoStudio, but since you have an accsess to so many, there shouldn’t be a problem with scotching up or even building the entire song with just BS-16i and Genome.
