Audiofile Engineering have released version 2.02 of FiRe 2 – their Field Recorder for iPhone & iPod Touch.

What’s new:

• Revamped Settings > Recordings by adding a new setting called “Method”
• Added a new recording method, Insert in addition to Overwrite, Overdub and Append
• Added the ability to send uncompressed files (AIFF, WAV & CAF) to Dropbox (requires bouncing the files)
• Resolved several major issues with Record over threshold…
• Resolved an issue with the meter in the transport
• Resolved an issue where the Browser Access screen would not rotate 180 degrees
• Improved memory management
• Resolved an issue where users would receive spurious error messages
• Resolved an issue where uploading a track to SoundCloud with a picture would cause FiRe to crash
• Resolved an issue where clicks might be introduced when recording with stereo input accessories on slower iOS devices
• Resolved an issue where FiRe would not warn users when there was not enough room on their device to create formats
• Resolved an issue where the speed of an exported file would be modified
• Various fixes and improvements
