Date Added: Nov 27, 2012
Jesper Nordin and Jonatan Liljedahl have released version 1.1 of Gestrument – their revolutionary gesture instrument and MIDI Controller for the iPad. The update adds the ability to record and playback your performances, as well as export them to AudioShare or AudioCopy.
What’s new:
- Record what you play with the internal synth
- Export recordings to AudioShare – audio document manager
- Copy recordings with AudioCopy
- Play back previous recordings, optionally looping
- Allow mixing with other apps, for example play a track in the Music app and play along with it in Gestrument

These are great news!. This app is truly amazing. One of the most interesting concepts on iOS. You can create beautiful sets of complicated harmonies and textures with just two fingers! (…along with some more or less elaborated programming of each voice). You shouldn’t miss it particularly if you are interested in classical-modern-serial-experimental music, but you can also take it as some elaborated form of kaoss pad for controlling synths or whatever. I was only missing some kind of looper: I would prefer that it recorded your gestures, but even if it’s just audio is really cool.
