Frontier Design Group have released version 2.3 of iShred Live – their iOS Universal guitar effects app. The update includes a new pedal effect called Resonant which features “Face Control” (see video below for more information), support for iTunes file sharing, and SoundCloud support. They have also added a new in-app purchase called the “Power Pack” where you can purchase all of the available effects and the recorder at a discounted price.

What’s new:

• Resonant – a brand new pedal effect! Resonant is a grooving low-pass filter with adjustable cutoff freq and resonant frequency. For iOS 5 devices with a camera you can even adjust the effect in real time using your face!
• SoundCloud support – upload your recordings right to SoundCloud
• iTunes file sharing – export your recording to desktop computer (of course we still have Audio Copy/Paste for moving audio between apps)
• Purchase restoring – ever move to a new iPhone or iPad and then wonder if you have to re-purchase your effects & recorder? Now there’s a settings button for restoring all purchases.
• Power Pack – we’ve had lots of requests for a paid version with ALL effects and recorder. Instead we now offer a Power Pack purchase right in iShred LIVE. When you first go to purchase you are offered the one-time choice of buying everything AND saving a couple bucks!
• Noise Gate – the “buzz kill” effect has been moved to its own page and doesn’t count against the maximum “on” effects. Now you’ll have a full-time noise gate, no matter what preset you are using.
• Fixed an iOS 5 bug with picking player tracks that have no artist or title in music player.

Just plug in and crank it up: the free iShred LIVE app puts you in control of an amp simulator with variable overdrive, and starts you with three free awesome built-in effects: the HK-2000 digital delay, the Q-36 Space Modulator/Flanger, and Buzz Kill, a noise gate and filter. At last, an app for real guitar players to strut their stuff.

You can use iShred LIVE with a headset that includes a microphone, but it is rock-optimized for use with the new GuitarConnect interface cable from Griffin Technology. It has a 1/4″ guitar plug, 1/8″ stereo headphone jack, and a plug for your device at the end of a 6 foot cable … no additional cable needed!
