Retronyms have released version 1.6 of Tabletop. The update adds two new devices – the Magic Mic (Free) for recording vocals, guitar or other audio to your tracks, and the T-Pain Effect for pitch shifting vocal effects ($5.99 in-app purchase).
A recording device to add vocals, guitars, or other audio to your tracks! Called the Magic Mic, this fantastic free device allows you to add in all the audio you want that isn’t immediately available in the app.
The T-Pain Effect from iZotope pitch-shifting vocal effects to automatically adjusts your vocals to hit exactly the notes you want. Pick the scale, key, and octave of your choice, and let the device work its magic!
Tabletop Contest Using New Devices:
To help everyone get some practice in with the new devices, Retronyms are holding another Tabletop contest! The only rules are that you must use the Magic Mic in the track, and you must make the track exclusively in Tabletop (imported samples are ok).
Then upload the track to SoundCloud by tapping Session > Share on SoundCloud, write “Contest Entry” in the What field, tap Upload & Share, and sit back and wait for the results to come in!
How is the winner being determined? We’ll be selecting the winner based on the wholly subjective criteria of how much we like the composition and how well the track shows off Tabletop’s abilities. You’re welcome to submit as many entries as you like, but that won’t necessarily increase your chances of winning.
And what exactly would you win? A free year-long SoundCloud Pro membership! Your submission has to be in by Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 11:59PDT.
