VirSyn Releases Harmony Voice – A Pitch Shifter and Harmonizer for iOS

VirSyn have released Harmony Voice – an iOS Universal pitch shifter and harmonizer with professional features including automatic tuning correction. Transform your voice into a choir with up to four voices!

A realtime visual intonation-display gives you feedback of the tunes you sing. You can sing and Harmony voice will add up to four voices according to the chords you play with the piano keyboard.

Instead of playing the chords yourself you can let Harmony Voice play the chords automatically to enrich the sound of your voice in a musically pleasant way. The voice character can be adjusted in a way that you can turn a female voice into a male voice and the other way round.

Harmony Voice supports CoreMIDI so you can use a compatible Interface to control Harmony Voice with a MIDI Keyboard. It also includes an audio recorder with support for SoundCloud export and Pasteboard for exchanging your audio recordings with other compatible apps.

  1. I bought Harmony Voice because I wanted to have real-time control of the harmonies, which is a chore on improVox. I have to say Harmony Voice is very nice and sounds as real as possible, but I’m not too familiar with the controls, so the only way I’m getting good results is using the keyboard.

I do like improVox harmony engine more because it sounds more musical, less mechanical, but without real-time control, you have to either do a couple is passes in different keys and edit them all to make one track or changing key/mood on the fly with is hard. I’m sure I can make a better recording if there was a manual or video tutorials.

  2. This app is awesome, it’s as simple as that. It is incredibly powerful for vocals, but for me the real bonus is when using it with other instruments. I plugged my bass into it and was amazed at the sound I got out of it, even in the lower register. Playing up higher really is an experience, such a big tone, it’s actually better than a lot of the bass effects I’ve used for years. This one is definitely worth checking out and it’s very addictive :-)

  3. How is the pitch correction compared to ImproVox? I like ImproVox a lot, but the pitching algorithm does some ugly artifacts.
