Genome MIDI Sequencer (GMS) for iPad is a pattern based MIDI sequencer for controlling all your MIDI gear. You can sequence single patterns or an entire 16 track song. GMS is fun, easy and portable. Whether you want to make music from the couch, a hotel room or on stage, GMS is the right tool for the job.
It is great for people looking to try an alternate studio setup, searching for a compact sequencer to bring to band practice or those who just want to find a way to ditch the bulky laptop.
GMS easily syncs your drum machines and arpeggiators by sending and receiving MIDI clock messages. General MIDI files are easily exported and imported for integration with desktop apps.
GMS is compatible with the Line6 MIDI Mobilizer and any interfaces that support CoreMIDI using the Camera Connection Kit or Network MIDI. Network MIDI allows you to send events to your Mac Desktop or to other iOS devices and apps.

I’ve just installed the last Sunrizer update, it works wonders with Genome!
Thank you Dave. I hope more apps add support for virtual MIDI soon.
Big surprise for me winning this App. Yet have to buy a MIDI interface to be able to drive my hardware synth. I will do a YouTube video when I have the interface and have some experience with the sequencer. Watch the Attorks channel.
Thanks a lot, Martin
The only one I see is Funkbox which supports MIDI sync.
Thanks White Noise & iDesignSound!
The pattern editor generally feels very responsive and smooth to use. However I’ve not been able to control another iOS app yet.
Does anybody know whether any of these apps supports virtual Core MIDI: Synthx, iMS-20, Sunrizer, Funkbox, Jasuto Pro, SynthTronica, GarageBand.
Thanks to White Noise Audio Software and idesignsound.com for running the competition that got me my hands on this. First impressions are very good, getting my head around the basics. Can’t wait for the virtual midi ports and background tasking updates to start making full use of this.
Will follow this site for my ipad music news,…. and more competitions please!
First time I’ve won anything… Can’t wait to try this!
