I have special feelings for Cakewalk. That was my first DAW back in 1998. Even though I’m not using it anymore I was really disappointed that it was discontinued recently.
But after BandLab took it over – they announced that they will re-release it and support it in future. And the best news is that it is FREE!
And as Free software, it is possibly the most advanced free music software you can find.
So I don’t see reasons to not download it except if you are MacOS user (like myself). Cakewalk has only Win support. So if you’re Windows user – go grab your copy of this legendary software:
